The American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies won independence from Great Britain, becoming the United States of America. With the alliance with France and others, America defeated the British in the American Revolution.

At times we are requested to search the records of the American Revolution, but people don’t know that most of the records were destroyed by fire in 1800 or in 1814. For records that are remaining, they can be located at the National Archives index on microfilm.
